To degrade or biodegrade - that is the question!

Do I choose degradable or biodegradable products? In order for packaging products or materials to qualify as biodegradable, they must completely break down and decompose into natural elements within a short period of time after disposal, typically a year or less.  Degradable products, on the other hand, are mostly oil-based and break down through chemical reactions rather than organically by microorganisms.  Degradable products do not break down completely and turn into organic material, instead they break apart into microscopic pieces which can still harm the environment.  check out this great link for more information: https://www.webstaurantstore.com/blog/454/biodegradable-degradable-and-compostable-whats-the-difference.html
Stay tuned - EcoFeminii are working towards sourcing cornstarch based plastic bags in an attempt to eliminate the need for plastic bags for household waste.  We will be selling these soon & would love your feedback.
